SteamVR just released a hotfix due to No Man's Sky crashing after latest update using SteamVR Beta. - I believe this is now fixed. If not try the experimental branch under the PIN Thread under General Discussion. DLSS 2.1 just got released for No Man's Sky. Depending on your system you should see a difference on GPU load.
The first VR games to support DLSS are: No Man's Sky. Wrench. Into The Radius. Nvidia claims you can double performance in No Man's Sky at the Ultra graphics setting when using DLSS in VR mode. In Aug 14, 2019. 124. No Man’s Sky, the galactic sandbox game which launched back in 2016 is getting a major update today which includes full VR support. The ‘BEYOND’ update is now available on

I can play all my PC VR games on Ultra or near Ultra settings, but Ultra on NMS VR annihilates my PC. Alyx, Star Wars Squadron are both maxed out and run smooth. NMS in VR with Ultra and I go to around 1-4 fps!! It runs perfect on desktop at same settings. Am I missing something? 2070 Super 64GB RAM Ryzen x3800 EDIT: Thanks for the answers.

No Man’s Sky is now fully playable in virtual reality. Many interactions have been given special VR-only options, including: grabbing plants and other collectables with your hands; physically opening the cockpits of ships and exocraft; piloting starships directly with a VR stick/throttle; and punching objects to cause damage.

The VR controllers (I have an index) do work. I have a G2 and I wouldn't want to use anything else but my controllers, gamepad wouldn't feel the same flying or doing 90% of the things you do. It would probably feel like I have my hands tied together. Last edited by Kobs ; Jun 28, 2021 @ 4:04pm. #6.
According to the Reddit user, watching TV in NMS can be achieved by opening the desired content, such as a YouTube video, and mounting the desktop onto the wrist. In this case, they used SteamVR I agree completely. In vr I find textures can sometimes be a hindrance as they can make the image a blurry sparkly mess in vr. I don't think it's a coincidence that some of the best vr games have very simple graphics, e.g. astrobot. With a good art direction textures in vr can be simplified massively to help performance and also make it look better

I'm thinking of buying the NMS for the upcoming VR support as it it currently on sale on Green Man Gaming. But do we know what the system…
Like No Man's Sky VR, Elite Dangerous is an open world VR game that has you flying through space, but a game with a much longer legacy. As opposed to the more fantastical style of No Man's Sky, Elite Dangerous is technically a space flight simulation game, a bit more grounded in realism, although… to be fair, as realistic as a space flight

Try it! Works good for me! Texture quality is the main and biggest drain!!! I'm not sure why but NMS is a really big strain on a system and a VR headset is like trying to run a second game at the same time!! Check your Task Manager when you just have the headset running!! See what % just the headset takes up on your system!! Hello Games' universe exploration title No Man's Sky has changed No Man's Sky run on a relatively low-end system, GPU to play No Man's Sky on PC. In terms of minimum requirements, an Intel M3nzxUs.
