As with the hatchback, the Skoda Fabia Estate offers plenty of useful cubbyholes throughout the cabin. Reliability & safety. Reliable and well built, but could be safer. Skoda sit well above their VW Group rivals having completely turned their fortunes around when it comes to reliability, while the Fabia model has never had any major issues which is a plus point. The Skoda Fabia was named Best Small Car in the Driver Power 2017 New Car Survey and What Car? awarded it the accolade of Best Small Car in their
Skoda Fabia Mk2 history. Skoda released the second-generation car to bear the Fabia name in May 2007 as a five-door hatchback only. It could be chosen with 1.2, 1.4 or 1.6-litre petrol engines, or
The Fabia is pretty reliable but simply suffers from silly VAG niggles. Water ingress is one of the main issues. Newer 06 models on suffer from EGR hesitation, the rear brakes can moo when reversing, the ARB drop links fail etc etc.
Fuel consumption on the tank before last was about 39 mpg, and on this tank has been 36 mpg - not good and no change in driving style. Road tax at £170 per year is also criminal for a 1.4! 322. Posted 21 May, 2008. SOUNDMIXER said: My AUB 16v Elegance is my first Skoda.
Everyday costs, plus how reliable and safe it is Costs, insurance groups, MPG and CO2 The Skoda Octavia’s model hierarchy is a little different to the brand’s norm.
The Picanto delivers a comfortable ride, and its small turning radius makes it easy to maneuver in tight spaces. It is a popular choice for urban dwellers and budget-conscious buyers looking for an economical and reliable city car. On the other hand, the Skoda Fabia is recognized for its European engineering and solid build quality.
Overall, Skoda’s cars have enjoyed many excellently made engines for a long time now. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder found in the Citigo and Fabia is great for those going the economical route, while the 2.0-litre TDI diesel found in larger cars is very dependable. Standard turbo flows enough air for around 165-170bhp with low smoke. That's around 1.5bar at 4000rpm. A VB turbo off the PD150 is good for around 195-200bhp at around 1.7bar at 4000rpm. Of course you can just take it to a different dyno and you may make 200bhp still only feel like 170bhp. Edited 1 January, 2016 by faboka vrs. Road Test: Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI SE 5dr Still a three cylinder, the 1.4-litre delivers 89bhp and 83.1mpg (there's a version on the way that Skoda claims will hit 88.3mpg, too).
Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014) 1.6 cr reliability. Hi everyone.. Im possibly going purchase a lovely looking candy white Fabia Monte Carlo, 1.6 diesel, 2012. I love the look of the car but it seems the more I research these 1.6cr engines the more worried i become about the reliability. There must be alot of these engines about in various cars, ca
Over time, it becomes loose and diesel fuel begins to ooze out, as well as into the pan. 2. Regular Fuel Pump Leaks. The slide-type fuel pump, which is combined with a vacuum pump, also has low reliability in this engine. Often diesel fuel gets into the vacuum part. 3. Rapid Contamination Of The Egr Valve. Our opinion of the Skoda Fabia has never been kept under wraps. This third-gen version is a previous What Car? Car of the Year winner , then it became our Used Small Car of the Year 2021. The DSG goes by different names, but design is similar in all VAG vehicles. The oil lubrication is shared with the gearbox and mechatronic unit. In earlier boxes this caused issues and replacement of the mechatronic unit is circa £2500. In later units a filter was fitted. In a post 2012 Skoda you should not have this issue. xXuk3.
